About the Project

About MultiEdit PTG Designer

MultiEdit PTG Designer 2.0 was developed at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) — Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) and ICAR-Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute (IASRI) as part of advanced gene editing research initiatives. The platform represents a collaborative effort to democratize polycistronic tRNA-gRNA (PTG) assembly technology for the global research community.

The tool automates the design of gRNA spacer-specific primers with 4-bp overlaps for Golden Gate assembly, enabling seamless multi-target CRISPR-Cas9 multiplex editing in both monocot and dicot plant systems. It has been experimentally validated in the wet lab and is freely available to the scientific community.

Acknowledgments

We gratefully acknowledge the support of our funding agencies, collaborating institutions, and the broader scientific community. Special thanks to the researchers who provided invaluable feedback during the development and testing phases of this tool.
